Steps to Add an Online Class That is Closed
Following are the steps by which a student can request to be added to an online class that is closed. This process allows for adding an online class without using the printed add permit and without going to the campus to process it.
Step 1: The student sends an email request to the Teacher. Email criteria includes:
- Email must be sent from the same email listed for that student in the Student Information System (SIS).
- The name on the email message header matches the students name in the SIS
- State student name in the email
- Include Student ID number in the email
- State class, section number wishing to add
- Include Term wishing to take the class (i.e. fall, spring, summer, winter)
Step 2: Instructor forwards email from student with all of the information in it to LATTConline@lattc.edu and includes a statement indicating the student has permission to add the class. Ay student sending mail directly to that address will not get a response. Please do not contact that email id.
Step 3: Admissions and Records checks the email and processes the request if possible. If add is processed, there is a response sent to the teacher and the student indicating success. If the add is not possible, there is a response to the teacher and the student identifying the reason(s) why the add cannot be processed.
NOTE: IF the original student email comes from an account that does not match the email address in the Student Information System (SIS), the request to add will be denied. It is the responsibility of the student to maintain a current email address in the SIS.
