Tutorials to Learn How to Use Moodle

Moodle Logo Moodle is a course management system used by many colleges and universities around the world. It is called an "open source" software whereby many people contribute to its continued development. As a result of it's wide use, there are many different orientations available for you to view. The most in-depth online orientation is Student Introduction to Moodle by Humboldt State University. Here is a link to the Moodle.org Student Tutorial files, too.

In addition, you can view the Flash Video orientations done Jan. 9, 2009 to a group of new online students or you can attend any of the orientations on campus listed below.



Microsoft Digital Literacy Training - Free - Helps you increase your computer skills. This is done online. Requires DSL or similar internet connection plus speakers or headset. You can use computers in C-109 but bring your own headset.

  • Orientation: Monday, July 12 from 6-8 pm in K-422
  • Review for Final: Monday, August 16 from 6-7:30 pm in K-422
  • Final Exam: Friday, August 20 from 6-8 pm in room K-422

Optional In-Person Moodle Orientations for Fall 2010 - PPT

  • Tuesday, August 31, from 6-7:30 pm in TE-501
  • Tuesday, Sept. 7, from 6-7:30 pm in TE-501
  • Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9-11 am in TE-501
  • Saturday, Sept. 18, from 9-11 am in TE-501

Required In-Person Orientations for Online Math Classes

  • Math 105 - Wednesday, Sept. 1 from 3-5 pm in TE-410
  • Math 112, 115, 125 and 227 attend ONE of the following:
    • Sat. August 28 from 10 am-Noon in TE-410
    • Mon. August 30 from 3-5 pm in TE-410
    • Tues. August 31 from 3-5 pm in TE-410

Optional Orientation for Sociology 1 Online - Saturday, September 11, 2010 from 12 noon to 2 pm in TE-323. Instructor will sign add permits at that time for any available spots in his class. You need to attend to be added to this class.
